Rajma : The Love Of All North Indians

Rajma is that one dish that has made a special place in the hearts of almost all North Indians and this is the reason why Rajma Chawal is one of the most commonly served dishes in Northern India. Rajma Chawal is a staple food for most Punjabis and North Indians. The tasty beans cooked in rich gravy are loved by almost everyone and re a comfort food for them. It is generally advisable to soak the rajma or the kidney beans in both white and red varieties overnight, to get the best results as far as the delicacy is concerned.

The Origins Of Rajma
Rajma is basically red kidney beans cooked in masala gravy. This tasty dish surely did originate in India but the main ingredient of this dish isn’t of Indian origins. The red kidney beans that Indians call rajma were grown for the first time in Mexico. From Mexico these beans were carried to Europe and from there they came to India.
